Call for entries Molokai Arts Center (MAC) 2020 Annual Members’ Show

A call to all current MAC members working in all mediums and styles to submit entries for consideration in the 9th annual MAC members’ show. Entry is open to all current MAC members (please be sure that your membership fees are up to date).

Juror:  Maya Lea Portner

Awards: Cash awards will be given for these categories: Best in Show, Kupuna Award, and the Emerging Artist Award. Gift certificates will be awarded to the Keiki division.

Promotion:

• All work selected by the juror will be exhibited online at the MAC website. 
• The exhibition will be promoted to the  local newspaper, the MAC website and all pertaining social media platforms used by MAC.

Important Dates:

• September 21-27th  Submissions will be received by paid staff only at the Molokai Arts Center Center BY APPOINTMENT
  ONLY. Call April (808) 658-0933 for Monday, Wednesday, Friday submission. Call Kanoe (808) 213-1179 for
  Tuesday, Saturday submission. Call Alice (808) 227-7808 for Thursday, Sunday submission. Deadline for submission is Sunday, September 27 by 5pm.

 Each artwork must have an entry application (which you can download and print it from here and there will also be blank forms available at the MAC). No late entries will be accepted.

Submitting entries for jurying: A maximum of three (3) works created during 2018-2020 may be submitted by each artist.

• The works will be photographed and sent to the juror for a digital review since the COVID restrictions keep changing all the time-this way we can be sure a review will happen
• Artists will be notified of the results during the week of Oct. 12th.
• All artwork can be picked up at the MAC after Oct. 5th by appointment only
• Nov. 9th is the launch date for the online gallery to be live. It will be available online for 2 months.

Use Rights: By submission for jurying; artists whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant Molokai Arts Center the right to use their images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensation from the curators. Artist’s recognition is provided with use.

Acceptance of Terms: By submission for jurying, artists whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition accept all terms and conditions set forth in this “Call for Entry” by the Molokai Arts Center.
