Our youth program is bidding a fond farewell to Rachel Steffen who has been volunteering with us since we opened our doors in February of 2012.

Rachel started volunteering as an interested young artist when she was a junior in high school.

For the past year Rachel has been participating in the AmeriCorps Program which, in return for her volunteer service, provides a stipend and college funds. She has been a tremendous help and a joy to be around. Rachel has set the standards for future volunteers. A proud member of the Molokai High School 2013 graduating class, she is now ready to move on with the next chapter of her life and has joined FEMA Corps.

FEMA Corps members focus on disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery activities, providing support in areas ranging from working directly with disaster survivors to supporting disaster recovering centers to sharing valuable disaster preparedness and mitigation information with the public.

Rachel has proven that she can handle working and communicating with others extremely well and we know she will excel in her new role. We thank her for helping with the Saturday classes and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
